tiger woods was a hero , especially to his wife and a protagonist in the world of sport. However a disruption broke out, this is part of Tordov's theory. Tiger woods went from being a protagonist to a antagonist very quickly, this shows binary opposites, part of Levi Strauss' theory. His wife became the damsel in distress, this is part of Propp's theory. The story reached an equilibrium when tiger apologized to his wife publicly on TV.

patterns of narrative;
Many of the films and TV programmes we watch have narrative patterns, this means the narrative is based around a particular idea. A narrative could be about search and investigation, often this can be applied to crime drama like CSI. The narrative could be goal orientated, such as Independence Day, in which the goal is to save the world. Some narratives are about an individual or a collective embarking on a metaphorical journey, often used in Disney films this could include the journey a boy takes in becoming a man or the journey the geek takes to becoming the hero.

To advertise the new phone that has just been released, i would first use target advertising through social networking sites such as Facebook, so that it could reach people with a demographic of being 13-30, male and female and all races, this would meet a specific target audience. Also, i would use digital signage in shopping centers, train stations, pubs and football stadiums, this would reach my secondary target audience. 








on the rimmel poster a low close up camera angle has been used so that she looks superior compared to us. she has been framed in the foreground so that she is made the centre of attention which links in with using coercive power because if you buy this make up then you too can be the centre of attention.  according to propps theory i think that the model looks like a villain as the high key lighting is making her stand out.the scene of the poster is an equilibrium as everything is normal and the main character is waiting to go to the party. the poster is an enigma as it seems that she has two sides to her, just like the red and black background which is a signifier and connotes a bit of excitement and danger.there is also opposites binary opposites such as the representation of her being a hero but a bit of villain as well, like the background with the black against the red. the mode of address is direct. the primary target audience is young women, the secondary target audience is men as they might be buying it for their girlfriend so then maybe they will look like the model. according to the uses and gratification theory the advertisement reflects the personal identity as you want to be able to look like her. also it could reflect surveillance as it gives the audience information about the product.
